This Troublesome New Character is Available Today for Use in All Raiders of the Broken Planet Campaigns

A new playable character is joining Raiders of the Broken Planet: the psycho-nerd hacker Schneider. This new Raider is the latest character to be released as part of Raiders of the Broken Planet´s third campaign, Hades Betrayal, and can be recruited by all players, irrespective of which campaign they own.

https://youtu.be/VLCym6TAji0
Know-it-all, rude, bratty and far too smart for his own good... Schneider doesn't give a damn what they call him, because he considers himself the future! Everyone else are just trained monkeys on the verge of going extinct. Schneider built his SCHN31D3r drone when he was just 14 years old, so hacking the Broken Planet’s ridiculous technology for the Hades Division was a piece of cake.

But having fallen from grace in the eyes of his former employers after the Hades Betrayal campaign events, Schneider has joined forces with Harec’s Raiders –much to his new teammates’ disgust– and players can now recruit him for their Raiders of the Broken Planet games.

In game, Schneider enjoys playing cat-and-mouse with his enemies, luring them to attack him and then trapping them in a deadly crossfire using his drone’s withering firepower. Playing as the Antagonist, Schneider can deploy his drone strategically to cover the Raiders’ objectives, preventing them from achieving their goals.

Loaht’s “Cookie” Granade Launcher and Grendel Skin Discount

Loaht’s love for high-calibre weaponry and his dry sense of humour are well known. Thus, it’s no surprise that he affectionally dubbed his latest grenade launcher “Cookie”. Officially designated as CLK-4R by Rough Dinamics ltd., this grenade launcher uses Plutonite rounds, a ferociously radioactive (and hugely expensive) mineral that can only be obtained in the Dorsa mines, in Pluto. When exposed to high temperatures, the Plutonite triggers a chain reaction culminating in several detonations. Loaht knew General Marmalade had been experimenting with Plutonite before he discovered the Aleph, and stole most of the General’s stock prior to defecting the Umbra Wardogs.
You can get the “Cookie” Blueprint in the No Reservations map.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmpK8nppAbo
This new weapon is a great match to Loaht’s Grendel skin. As Loaht grew more familiar with his power and gained more control over it, the beast’s skin started to grow scales and adopt a darker hue. Being tired of shredding his clothes whenever he transformed, Loaht contacted the Humblebee clan, famous for their ultra-elastic battle suits. The Raider chose a prototype painted a garish yellow hue. After all, what’s the point of wearing camouflage when you are a 4-metre-tall rampaging monster?

To celebrate the release of the “Cookie”, the Grendel skin is 30% off until May 27th.

Raiders of the Broken Planet

The problem with launching a multiplayer shooter is that players are part of the content. Without players, you’ve only got half a package, even if there is a single-player mode. MercurySteam’s Raiders of the Broken Planet (a Gears of War-styled co-op shooter with a light PvP twist) has always looked rather nice, but without people playing it, it’s a hard sell, and the game just never got off the ground.

In an attempt to zap some life back into Raiders in time for the next episodic campaign release, for the next two days, you can grab the entire game (including three DLC solo/co-op campaigns) free on Steam to keep forever. Grab it now, and you’ve got something for your crew to do over the weekend.

Konstantin’s Ogon Tolchok E10 and Rusty Pilgrim Skin Discount.

Konstantin is rec’s right hand, charged with the strategic planning of missions and profiling new potential Raiders to join the cause. Today, he is getting a new powerful weapon to add to his already impressive arsenal: the Ogon Tolchok E10.

Konstantin used the Tolchok E10 in the battle for the Domos Bridge. On one end, the Fifth Council’s pursuing units. On the other, local families fleeing for their lives… and Konstantin, one of the few warriors able to hold off a full battalion of Council troops and live. But he wouldn’t have without his Tolchok.

The Ogon Tolchok E10 uses spherical bullets covered with an elastic polymer and lead alloy. The energy released by the polymer after impacting a target can push a target several metres away. Konstantin put that feature to use keeping the Fifth Council units at bay while the families crossed the bridge to safety.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4DSewpHPuI
You can get the O. Tolchok E10 Blueprint as a reward playing as the Antagonist.

This new weapon is a great match to Konstantin’s Rusty Pilgrim outfit. After his face-off against the Ginebra Hunter Killer unit, Konstantin left his Fifth Council allegiance in the past, along with most of his cybernetic body. Konstantin spent weeks crawling among detritus, trying to survive and rebuilding his shattered body with discarded components.

In the time it took Konstantin to return to full functionality, he reflected on how Ginebra didn’t finish him off when she got her chance, and he vowed to live to see her freed of the Fifth Council yoke.

To celebrate the release of the O. Tolchok E10, the Rusty Pilgrim skin is 50% off until May 20th.

The latest game update is up today, and it contains several bug fixes and rebalancing. Let's have a look at what's in Patch 08.1:

- Fixed a bug where H.I.V.E.'s cards "Analepsy", "Adaptative Evolution" and "Adipocytes" could make the game crash when used with an Aleph super boost.
* Users to whom we substituted these Cards when the bug first
appeared will be getting them back I the next few hours.

- Fixed a bug where some weapons wouldn't do critical damage when a console user was hosting the game.

- Decreased difficulty’s contribution to the final score when not playing against an Antagonist. Time, Deaths and Advance are now more important factors.

- Decreased Antagonist skill’s bonus contribution to the final score when playing against an Antagonist. Time, Deaths and Advance are now more important factors.

- Increased raiders rescue bonus’ contribution to the final score when the Antagonist loses.

The inscrutable H.I.V.E. is a violent creature of unknown origin that was awoken by the Umbra Wardogs in the depths of the old Uddas Nassar Temple on the Broken Planet. Since this enigmatic character joined the ranks of Harec’s Raiders, she instantly became a fan favourite!

Today, Karen Hernández, Community Manager, and Darin Aranda, Technical Artist, team up in our latest #DevShouts video to explore this iconic character’s lore and share some hints and tips about playing with her as a Raider or as an Antagonist.

Hades Betrayal first data patch is mainly oriented to both bug fixing and mission balance.

Ayana
Ayana could throw her cable so far than she could instantly pull off the hooked enemy. We want players thinking up different strategies when using Ayana's power.
- Greatly decreased distance at which she can throw her cable (-15 meters)

Short-Fused
Antagonist spawn points in this mission were a bit awkward. This prompted us to make a big revision of every Antagonist spawn point in the game, which will be coming with the patch after this one.
- Antagonist spawn points have been reworked.

A Fistful of Sand.
The Protector's walk to the first phase lift still had too much impact on difficulty.
- Decreased enemy spawn rate after finding the Protector.

The Beast’s Lair
Starting enemy difficulty would sometimes cause the Raiders to be stuck at the spawning point.
- Decreased the initial number of enemies.

A Low Blow
The last phase is proving a bit too difficult. We're happy with the final horde of the level and the frenetic situations it creates. We want to boost those feelings, so Raiders end up screaming when completing the mission.
- Decreased initial number of Hades Division soldiers of the final phase (-3).
- Increased Wardog spawn rate when the Raiders arrive at the last barrier (+25%).
- Decreased life points of the last barrier (-10%).

Double Agent
The first phase of the mission can sometimes drag for too long, with Schneider changing sides continuously so that the Raiders could neither win nor lose.
- Decreased enemy spawn rate during the first phase when playing against an Antagonist (-15%).
- Schneider will hack the consoles faster if the first phase drags out.
- Reduced crystal laser-beams AoE.

Character cards
We want players having more options to configurate their favorite characters earlier than they currently are.
- Decreased level requirements to draw and shuffle character cards (28/34/41/44 to 18/28/34/42)

Melee combat
We detected some situations in which melee rules could be inconsistent.
- Several features and fixes have been implemented to improve melee consistency.

XP Boost Packs
- Previously, you could purchase 3 XP Boost for 12.000 Gold. Now you purchase 4 XP Boosts for 16.000 Gold.

Bug Fixing
- Fixed a bug causing Mikah's Overexposure talent give the decoy almost infinite regeneration.
- Fixed a bug causing some O.Tsiklon shoots to disappear.
- Fixed a bug that made Shae's weapons' targeting unstable against Schneider's and Aneska's mechs.
- Fixed a bug that made Shae's weapons' unable to target some extractors on Short-Fused.
- Fixed a bug where the Antagonist's spawn points would cycle in the wrong direction on No Reservations.
- Fixed a rare bug where the Beholder's tentacles could be destroyed in just one shot by any weapon.
- Several fixes on bugs caused by host renegotiations.
