This is a 65 to 52-C Storz reducer fitting with a lug distance of 81 mm and 66 mm respectively. It is made of aluminum with an NBR (nitrile rubber) seal. The maximum operating pressure is 16 bar (232 psi). The coupling is suitable for temperatures between -40 to 110 °C (-40 to 230 °F).

Storz couplings are used in fire protection systems and industrial applications. Both parts of the Storz coupling have the same head structure, so couplings with the same lug distance can be buckled together.

Pros:

  • Quick connection and release by twisting 120°
  • All couplings with the same lug distance and nominal size are compatible with one another
  • Aluminum couplings are lighter in weight than stainless steel

Cons:

  • Storz couplings have no shut-off function
