I visited Seonam-Sa Temple 선암사, one of the prettiest temple in South Korea this winter. Nestled snugly inside a scenic valley at the west end of Mt. Jeogyesan, Jeollanamdo, it is certainly a great hideout if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle from the city. Visitors will need to walk for about 1KM to get to the temple from the car park entrance. It is a fairly long walk, especially in the chilly winter — not easy if you want to meet Buddha. However I would say it worth all your strengths because the journey was just beautiful.
Before reaching the temple, you will get to see two rainbow shaped bridges. The large one is called Seung-seon Bridge, listed as No.400 of National Treasure of South Korea. It is famed for its beautiful outlook that blends well with the valley, making it a popular shooting location for movies and TV dramas. Visitors can do temple stay at Seonam-Sa as well. There is also a very good restaurant for Sanche-Jeongsik (산채 정식, wild vegetables full course meal) near the car park entrance.
