Google Custom Search Engine in Action

Vik Singh created a custom search engine, called Tech Stuff, by uploading a list of popular domains and OPML files from Robert Scoble and Matt Cutts.

Google engineer Sashi Seth used Google CSE to improve the search on his wine blog.

Phil Lenssen at Google Blogoscoped cobbled together several well known search blogs to make a custom search engine.

Web Tech Blog Search is another example of a hosted Google CSE. This SE searchs several popular tech blogs, including Techcrunch, Mashable, and Micropersuasion.

Ultimate Jobs collates results from Crunchboard, Craigslist, Careerbuilder, HotJobs and Monster. Ultimate Jobs takes advanatge of the Google hosting option, and the site remains on Google's servers.

Putch Search attempts to remove spam results from searches, while placing advertisements (which some regard as a form of keyword spam) on the right hand side of the page.

Another partner that Google displayed was Intuit. Users of their Jump Up site use Google CSE when they select "Top Business Resources" underneath the main search box.

Google used Realclimate.org as an example of Google CSE in action when they launched the product.
