Female cover singers

Have you ever listened to female cover singers? They are truly amazing. Whether they are part of a band or solo. They can sing anything. Most of them start out as cover singers. Some just stay cover singers while others branch out and start making their own music. Most of them have to be able to sing anything. In this article I am going to talk about 3 solo females and 4 groups or duos.

I am going to start with the person that is no longer with us. Her name was Christina Grimmie. She was on the Voice. She started out doing YouTube covers.

She started off the Voice with a bang by singing Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. She just kept surprising people with her voice. The real shock came when she did her version of Hold on, We’re going home by Drake and How to Love by Lil Wayne. She wowed everyone. She should have won that season of the Voice. Her life was tragically taken way to early by an obsessed fan at a concert.

The next person is Madilyn Bailey. She started on YouTube at a very young age. She honestly was great from the start. It was a combination of her voice and song choice. When you can mix in covers and originals right from the start of your channel that is something special. She is another female singer that can sing rap. Not only can sing rap but can cover Eminem songs from an early age.

She started on YouTube, but she had bigger goals. The cover song that catapulted her channel and her career was Titanium by David Guetta ft Sia. It achieved either Diamond or Platinum status. She has had a lot of success on YouTube and in other countries. She has a few EPs out. She is just an amazing singer that has the kind of voice that you know it’s her immediately. She recently preformed on AGT. She made it to the Semifinals.

The next person is Gibi. She will be the last solo singer I talk about. Gibi is a singer for fun. Singing is not her main job. Her main job is doing ASMR on her YouTube channel. I had no idea she sang. One day I heard talk about her Twitch. I had heard of Twitch but had never signed up. I decide to give it a try. The first stream I saw of hers was her birthday/ charity stream. She was talking about the musical Hamilton. A few hours in her, her husband and her cousin start singing Hamilton songs. Not only was she singing she was playing the piano. My first experience with her singing was her raping Hamilton songs.

During that stream she was auctioning off things. I decide to buy a song. The song I picked was See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth. She did the song on a later stream. After that stream I went looking for her other singing streams or videos. I was truly amazed by what I found. She truly could be a Disney character. She can sing a wide variety of songs and genres. My favorite song she sings besides the Disney ones is MCR Welcome to the Black Parade. I love that song and her version is almost as good as the original. If she wasn’t doing ASMR she could be a professional singer.

For the groups or duos, I am going to go in the order I learned about them.

The first group is First 2 Eleven. They started out doing covers on YouTube. They cover everything from modern bands like Paramore to songs like Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses. It is truly amazing how wide a range they have and have to have as a cover band. After years of doing covers they decide to make a new band name for their original music.

The next group is TeraBrite. They where mostly a cover duo on YouTube. For just two people they had an incredible sound. They did a wide variety of songs but what made them different is that they turned every song into a Rock song no matter the genre.

They don’t do singing videos anymore. They moved on to video games. Both playing and designing them.

The next group is Halocene. They are a rock band that started on YouTube. They are similar to TeraBrite in that they can turn any song into a rock song. The difference is that they are a band instead of just two people. They have expanded beyond YouTube and have started touring.

The last group is the newest to me. Their name is Against the Current. I like this group because they are more like First 2 Eleven. They are a rock band that can sing other things besides Rock. There is a website that likes to put covers they have done up against First 2 Eleven. They compare the same song head-to-head. They are fun to watch. I need to watch and learn more about Against the Current.

In conclusion I just want to say woman cover singers are amazing. I love that most of them can go from YouTube doing covers to doing their own music and touring. I just want to mention that these artists do not get paid for the covers they post. They can get paid for posting them iTunes. The only one that makes a living from YouTube is Gibi and that is from her ASMR videos.
