PANAMA CITY, Fla. -- Three people died in separate drowning incidents Saturday afternoon in Panama City Beach.

All three happened behind different resorts on Front Beach Road.

The first incident took place around noon behind the Days Inn.

A 39-year-old Lithonia, Georgia, woman was brought to shore from the Gulf of Mexico. She was then transported to the hospital, where she later died.

The second incident occurred behind the Boardwalk Beach Resort around 1:15 p.m.

A 63-year-old Lithia Springs, Georgia, man was brought to shore from the Gulf of Mexico. He was then transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The third incident happened around 4:20 p.m. behind the Emerald Isle Condos.

A 68-year-old Canton, Michigan, man was brought to shore from the Gulf of Mexico. He was then transported to the hospital, where he later died.

"The conditions at the time were severe, with double-red flags, indicating extreme water hazards," Panama City Beach Police say in a release. "The Panama City Beach Police Department and Beach Safety implore the public to always heed the double-red flag warnings and always be aware of the dangers that can accompany these conditions. Double-red flag conditions have existed on the beach for the last week. Double-red flags mean you are not allowed in the Gulf."

Over the last 10 days, the Panama City Beach Police Department responded to 70 swimmers in distress -- with 39 of those calls coming Saturday.
