This building is the main office of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine as well as the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC, Ukrainian: РНБО/RNBO).

It was built in 1936-1939 for the headquarters of the Kyiv Special Military District, after all Government institutions of the Ukrainian SSR were transferred from Kharkiv to Kyiv.

Architect: Serhiy Hryhoriev (born in 1896, Kharkiv - dead in 1975, Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA).
The author of the design was able organically unite elements of a classical style and Ukrainian Baroque.

In 2019 the Administration of the President of Ukraine was officially renamed to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
