Ignis Fatuus preview from the Press of AC

The countdown to the unveiling of Morey's Piers' mystery attraction - Ignis Fatuus ("Project 5292010") continues, with only four days to go until the big event (Friday night at 11:45 p.m.).

Trudi Gilfillian of the Press of Atlantic City has a written an enthralling preview of the attraction, complete with a photo gallery and behind-the-scenes video!

In the piece, it is revealed that the Moreys have invested over a million dollars in creating the ghost ship walk-through, which is being managed by Exit Zero's Terry O'Brien and will feature a cast of live actors interacting with a variety of frightful scenes.

The debut of Ignis Fatuus will be a landmark event on the Boardwalk, especially for dark ride enthusiasts who have been clamoring for the arrival of a major haunted attraction for years. Wildwood, once a mecca for the genre, has not been home to anything like this since the famed Castle Dracula burned down in early 2002.

The theme and exterior imagery of the new ride, naturally, is conjuring memories of the old Pirate Ship Skua, a custom classic that operated at Hunt's Pier from 1962-1988.

  1. I really have to try to make it up there this summer to check this boat out. I loved Castle Dracula, I loved the Pirate Boat and the Poseidon Adventure walk-through (that wasn't there long) so I know I'd really dig this baby!
