    I am always on the lookout for more ways to preserve food. This book takes a close look at freeze drying. The beginning of the book sets you up for success. It looks at what freeze drying is, what it works best for, and what equipment you will need. Then we get into the recipes. There are a lot of recipes presented here. They cover fruits, vegetables, meats/seafood, spices, and snacks. Each recipe has an ingredient list with amounts at the beginning then clearly written step by step directions. The end of the book explains how to rehydrate your foods. There is also a section on how to properly store your freeze dried foods to expand their shelf life in a safe and effective way.

    This was a total waste of money for me! For example: It gives instructions on how to use freeze dried hamburger meat reconstituted to make a meal. I was looking for recipes that use beef, chicken, turkey, ham etc to make complete meals to freeze in my Harvest Right freeze dryer, to store for later use. So disappointing!
