I just finished this book and friends, the author hurt me. That ending was painful and heartbreaking. I highly recommend picking up the second book before devouring this one, like I did! I fell so hard for the found family and beautiful friendships in this story— the Fae vs human world rife with oppression and death captured my heart, and the morally grey characters. Yasss! I loved this story and will be reading the second, A Legacy of poison and lies immediately!

I love this world and its characters. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in about a day. It is so well written, with well-developed characters and a new, unique system of magic that is clear and exciting. The characters are lovable yet flawed. I picked this book up during a promotion on Amazon recently, and boy am I glad I did. What a great, well written fantasy romance book. The FMC, Zylah, is strong, determined and so likable, same with the two MMC. How can you not love Holt and Raif, and how wonderfully protective and loving they are with her?

Zylah’s journey to find her strength, learn more about herself, and even find love is so enjoyable to read. Add in some action, an evil king hunting for our protagonist, an uprising being planned, found family and you get this book.

I really enjoyed this, and am excited to read book 2 to find out how Zylah’s story continues.

Interesting story. Pacing was a little slow but kept me intrigued. I enjoyed liking all the characters. I do feel like there were a lot of moments where things were left out of the story instead of being explained. I also wish ut had been dual pov. Hopefully, the second book picks up more.

This book was so good, I could not put it down. It is very fast paced, with interesting characters and I would say a very unique world. This books revolves around the characters and that is what drives the plot.

I LOVED Zylah(still don’t think I’m pronouncing it right😂). I love when we get to learn all about the world through our MC’s eyes with them. Zylah is a strong, bold female and I can just picture where her character will go in the following books. After tragedy strikes Zylah finds a hot mysterious fae male, who leads her to a new city and her own found family. Ummm also animal companions, she has an owl names Kopi. All I could picture the whole book was this adorable little owl flying onto her shoulder and chirping. I think there will be more to Kopi in the coming books. This book will bring out so many feelings:happiness, sadness, laughter, frustration! This book reminded me a lot of Defy the Night in a way, but also totally different 😂

This book had me left wondering and with so many questions, and I cannot wait to pick up right where I left off in this world. 4 1/2 stars soley because I just wanted more plot answers, which I think will come in future books.

What an opening line to a new world fantasy filled with swashbuckling adventures, magical creatures, intense twists, steamy love affairs and awe inspiring descriptive prose. A Legacy Of Storms And Starlight by Victoria J. Price is book one of a new fantastical series that checks off all the boxes for fans of this genre.

Zylah is in the hangman''s noose for murdering the Prince (in self defense - the man was a pig) when she is suddenly swept away from her unjust demise. Obviously magic is at play but she never had magic before and has no idea how it all works. One thing she does know is she needs to keep running to escape capture. She needs to "Take Down The King and Secure Her Freedom."

With the help of Holt the very handsome, strong, brooding Fae she becomes part
of the Fae rebellion against the evil King who wants her dead. There are many wonderful characters from the brilliant animal companion Kopi the Owl, sexy love interest Raif, the aforementioned Holt to Zylah herself, who is a strong fierce female on her own but trying to navigate through her new found powers and her very human emotions.

The world building is beautifully laid out and quick to comprehend. The way this author wrote about the landscape left me in wonderment. I saw it all and it was breathtaking in my mind.

My biggest surprise, besides those hot love scenes, were the twists. So much I didn't expect but so enjoyed the revelations. There is something for everyone if, like me, you enjoy mystery thrillers, family drama and romance with your fantasy. Speaking of romance. I need to put out in the universe for the writer that a romantic triangle with Holt is definitely in my perfect book two fantasy.

Zylah is such a great character and I love Raif, Holt, Rose, and Saphi as well. Of course, how could I forget my favorite owl buddy Kopi lol. This was a book I didn't get too excited about when I first added it to my TBR list. I was in a book hangover after reading something from my favorite author and decided this sounded like a good read to bide my time before the next book came out in another series I am waiting for. I am so happy that I decided to take a risk on this book. It was everything. Now I am left waiting on another series to come out with the next installment. It's a never-ending cycle I suppose lol

Anyway, the book starts out with a murder and poor Zylah is waiting to find out her fate. Without giving too much away she finds out she is half fae and meets other fae along her journey to kill a king and find out more about herself. I would definitely read this book if you love a strong yet vulnerable and slightly naive FMC, elves, magic, revenge, and vampires. Oh and cute animal sidekicks. There is some spice but only a couple of places so spice level I would say is low but the story itself is still really good and the spice isn't really needed just an added bonus.

I absolutely loved it! Mit "A Legacy of Storms and Starlight" hab ich das erste Buch der Autorin gelesen, und ich war von Anfang an begeistert. Es bietet alles, was mein Romantasy-Herz höher schlagen lässt: eine sympathische, freundliche FMC, potentielle, neue Bookboyfriends, und viele Geheimnisse, die es aufzudecken gilt. Es gibt die richtige Portion Spannung, Abenteuer, etwas Spice, found family.

Wir begeben uns mit Zylah auf eine abenteuerliche Reise, und die beginnt einfach schon "toll": im Gefängnis. Und dann geht es einfach rasant weiter. Denn sie muss alles zurücklassen, und wir lernen gemeinsam mit Zylah eine ganz neue Welt kennen - und entdecken mit ihr gemeinsam ihre Fähigkeiten, ihre Herkunft, neue Freunde und Familie.

Holt ist auch ein spannender Charakter, den ich das ganze Buch über versucht habe, zu verstehen, aber da sind vermutlich ein paar andere Mächte am Werk - da freu ich mich ganz besonders auf Band 2.
Aber die Beziehung zwischen Holt und Zylah war etwas besonderes und ich genoss es sehr, die beiden miteinander zu erleben.

Raif, Saphi, Rose, mit denen konnte ich mit jetzt nicht so sehr anfreunden. Als Nebenprotas blieben sie für mich sehr oberflächig, hätte gerne mehr von ihnen erfahren. Hoffentlich kommt das in Band 2.

Und was bin ich froh, dass Band 2 bereits verfügbar ist, sodass ich gleich weiterlesen kann, denn die Autorin endet die Geschichte mit einem Boom Cliffhanger, wo ich sofort weiterlesen muss.

This story is nice and lovely. Zylah (Zy) is a girl whose execution day is around the corner. Day X is here and suddenly…magic! Zy is kinda free, but in the mountains. Аnd after small adventures she meets Him…
oh my! Holt is an ideal boyfriend material, strong, kind, reasonable and attentive, but he…i assume, so reliable and nice to try anything and even flirt with Zy, so…
Zy met another hot guy in the city (where we are living with Holt).
But i can’t believe that this random attraction is possible, and our Zy can fall for this flirt and lines; but here we are and there is love, i guess. Fine if she wants another guy, it’s totally fine, but Holt is my boy of this story.
I had some issues with this rapid, fast-developed relationship. We need more time, i need more time to believe in this. But i'm intrigued how love 'path' will continue in the second book.

World building is nice, we have stories about Gods and their creations, politic stuff is a messy one (as usual), but it was interesting to try and connect all dots on the map and predict events. But in this world we have Mates, and i’m a little bit…nervous? hope this will be done nicely and with logic in the second book.

And such an unexpected ending. Which definitely require to read continuation immediately, so i would advice you to start second one straight after finishing this one.

Zylah ends up on the run to stay alive, but if she carries on running for the rest of her life, will she ever be able to stop?

Zylah has to make a choice , join the fight and take down the king to secure her freedom, or carry on running and never seeing her loved ones again and never truly be free.
I found that I was hooked by the first couple of pages. But I never actually read the synopsis, I came across the art work and just had to read this book, I have no regrets. The best thing about going into a book without knowing the what it’s about, is that when a book opens with
“I didn’t mean for him to die” and not knowing who what how, it makes you want to read. It makes you want to know what In the world is going on.
