Very good

PANINARO, itself once a b-side, gets and update and full release treatment with this disc of remixes. Tin Tin Out give a suitable prog house mix (remember when prog house was huge? if not, this mix will remind you), while Tracy & Sharon (better known as Superchumbo) offer two more interesting interpretations of the original. But even they have a tendency to get repetitive -- best to keep these short in a mix. Angel Moraes goes for dark and heavy, stripped-down NYC house. Ten minutes of it, however, wears on the patience some. Sometimes, less is more.

This CD gets better as you play it. It first introduced me to Angel Moraes and he's a supabahd DJ! :) The original song on "Disco" is kinda boring. But they really jazzed it up this time around. I'm a Pethead extraordinaire and I can honestly say this is one of their best CD singles.

Paninaro'95, le must have de PSB !
Reviewed in France on November 17, 2022

Brilliant re-invention of "Paninaro"
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 13, 2013
"Paninaro" had become a cult song among PSB fans: initially a B-Side for "Suburbia" in 1986, tragically limited to a 12" single only in Italy, the song became one of the most popular Chris Lowe tracks. On top of the obvious dance qualities of the song, the deadpan delivery of Chris Lowe on the song and his legendary dance routine during the 1989 Tour made for an unforgettable track.
Taking the opportunity of a CD compiling all the B-sides they released between 1985 and 1995, Pet Shop Boys decided to re-invent "Paninaro" in a new version, "Paninaro '95", recorded almost 10 years after its first incarnation - following a try-out during the 1994 South America tour.
The result is a riot: PSBs managed the challenge of fully re-inventing the song making it more relevant for the 1990s as well as richer in terms of production values, while at the same time remainiong very faithful to the character of the initial track. This is very good work indeed, showing the immense musicality of Chris and Neil.
To add to the fun, this CD includes "In the Night" in its original 7" version (the track was released in a remixed version in "Disco" in 1986) and the only tolerable version of Blur's Girls & Boys - made successful here through Neil Tennant's voice, much more appropriate and lyrical than whomever was singing the original version.
A very rewarding CD indeed!
