With everything RuPaul is up to as of late, from his Netflix show, to his Vegas live show, to his upcoming hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, it’s amazing that the star has any time to spare. But Ru found time when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (Feb. 6).
The Drag Race host sat down with Fallon to discuss everything that he’s up to, including his recent appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair, when he became the first drag queen to do so. But when Fallon stated that fact, Ru reeled back in shock. “A drag queen?” he asked incredulously. “A drag queen? I am the queen of drag!” Laughing, Fallon apologized only to have Ru snap back, “You should be, I’m gonna key your car.”
In one segment of the show, Ru decided to show Jimmy Fallon how to play a game of Dirty Charades, where you replace one word in the title of a movie, TV show or song to make it filthy. It was difficult though, Ru said, because “I think I sent over 30 titles … standards and practices rejected every single one of them.” But Ru went for it, giving his best disco moves, followed by a buck-toothed face, getting Fallon to guess “Saturday Night Beaver.”

During their interview, Ru also chatted about his upcoming hosting gig on SNL (“It’s from Australia, I’m going to be hosting it,” he said jokingly), and the upcoming season of Drag Race, and how the show pulls off its inspirational message of loving yourself. “Everybody wants to root for the underdog,” Ru said. “These kids have come from homes where their mama and their daddy have thrown them out. But they said, ‘You know what Mama? You know what Daddy? Eff y’all! I’m gonna do my own thing.”
