Riley Green’s newest release, “In Love By Now,” has the Alabama native looking back nostalgically on a former love. Certain she’s already moved on, he struggles with forgetting her.
“She’s probably in love by now/ A girl like that, don’t stay lonely long/ I bet she’s already found somebody else and he ain’t doing her wrong/ Wouldn’t do no good even if I could somehow track her down/ She’s probably in love by now,” he croons on the chorus.
The video for “In Love By Now,” premiering exclusively oh Billboard today (April 18), was shot in the picturesque beaches of Belize and stars Green chasing an old flame.
“I wrote ‘In Love By Now’ with Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip and Marv Green in Nashville,” Green tells Billboard. “We sat down, and I think I said something about writing a song that sounded like Shenandoah; a ‘90s country sounding song. They all jumped at the opportunity because that’s kind of their bread and butter too. When it came time to film a video, I somehow talked the label [Big Machine Label Group] into filming it in Belize so that wasn’t too horrible.”

While Green sings the tune, he can be found playing guitar on the beach, spending the day fishing, and stumbling into Losers for a set before running into his ex.
“A buddy of mine runs the bar and he invited me down. It seemed like a great place to shoot a music video. We might have saved a little money too, filming in his bar,” he says with a laugh.
Green, who launched onto the country scene last year with his infectious debut single “There Was This Girl,” will join Brad Paisley on the road next month for his first major tour support gig. The trek kicks off May 30 in New Mexico.
