Following Cee-Lo’s announcement that Goodie Mob’s “Age Against the Machine” album will be drop August 27, the Atlanta rap collective releases its first single, “Special Education,” featuring Janelle Monae. The upcoming album will be the group’s first featuring all four members – Cee-Lo, Big Gipp, Khujo and T-Mo – since “World Party.” The 2000 effort peaked at No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Goodie Mob hasn’t graced Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs since 2000 either, when “Get Rich to This,” featuring Big Boi and Backbone, peaked at No. 65. Could “Special Education” get them back on the list?
Bad Boy’s Machine Gun Kelly returns with “Peso,” featuring Pusha T and Meek Mill, in anticipation of his forthcoming mixtape titled “Black Flag.” The Burd & Keyz-produced track samples Aloe Blacc’s hit single “I Need a Dollar (How to Make it in America).” Machine Gun Kelly’s only appearance on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs is the rowdy Waka Flocka Flame- assisted, “Wild Boy,” which peaked at No. 49 in March, 2012. The song set the Cleveland rapper up for a No. 2 debut on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with “Lace Up.” Could the popular sample on “Peso” usher in his second appearance on the former chart?
