I loved loved staying here! Ash has put a lot of thought into every single detail in the hostel, and has left notes at most parts of the hostel which was very helpful! - There was breakfast included which was cereal or bread which was a really nice simple way to start the day! - The beds were so so comfortable - I haven’t slept until my alarm has gone off in a long time! - There’s plenty of space in the female dorm, and there was a cute little desk space where you can even put your feet down and a great security box system! It felt very personal and tiny house living-Esau’s! - Ash also let us use his bikes which was a nice way to see and explore the neighbourhood. - Parking was really close by and for 1200 yen a day in Tokyo?? Great great price Ash was very helpful and I would highly recommend this place for anyone with a car and wanting a place away from the business of the main area of the city!

In 28 years in Japan, I think this was the best place I’ve ever stayed. I was there for 3 nights. Mr. and Mrs. Ito were incredibly kind. They thought of every single detail, going far beyond what I expected. It was a wonderful experience and I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed and appreciated it. I would give them a score of 100 if I could.

Staying at Hanare was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were personal, generous with their time and knowledgeable. We loved the breakfast and thoughtful note left for us by our host. I just had to go back once more, and it did not disappoint me. It actually felt like home. Not only Yuta and Nana are very kind owners, all the people I met there were really nice. Next time I'm in Tokyo again, it's definitely a place I'll stay at.

If you're looking for cheap, this is it. The sheets, pillows and duvet are white and clean. There are clean towels and slippers provided. The beds are comfortable. The location is great. Just steps away from busy Shinjuku, but on a quiet little street. We were allowed to check in an hour early with the help of the cleaning staff. Definitely strange to stand starkers and look down over a busy Tokyo backstreet but amusing - Linen and lockers provided - Immaculately clean - 'English' pub downstairs which was actually pretty British, not a bad copy at all - Cheap, quiet - Near 'Golden Gai' if you like that kind of thing. Thermae-Yu just down the road is better
