Broncos fans were out early this morning to catch a glimpse of the full squad for the first time in 2024. International rep players, Kotoni Staggs, Payne Haas and Patty Carrigan joined their teammates for the first time since the break.
Kevvie and the coaching staff got pre-season training back underway as he made the boys work off the extra Christmas pudding in the sweltering heat. At the end of the month, the squad will be departing for pre-season camp in preparation for their first trial game against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Kougari.
The fun starts weeks prior to Round 1 when the club brings an array of different activities to the pre-season that guarantees a smile on fans faces. Below is a list of key dates for anyone looking to follow the Broncos from the very beginning of 2024.
10th February
Trial Game 1 – Broncos v Seagulls
The Broncos will test their pre-season efforts in their first trial game of the year against the BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Kougari Oval on Saturday, 10th February at 11:00am. Be sure get your tickets by clicking here.
11th February
Broncos Fan Fest
Back by popular demand, more than 3000 members and fans are gain expected to pack the Broncos HQ precinct, with the club set to create another carnival-like atmosphere. The full NRL squad and coaching staff will be on stage and available for autographs and photos and for the first time, a contingent of NRLW players will also attend.
18th February
Trial Game 2 – Broncos v Cowboys
Mackay will host the Broncos second trial game of the season as the squad tests the strength of the North Queensland Cowboys at BB Print Stadium, Mackay at 3:00pm.
Clearly a highly anticipated game because ticket allocation has been exhausted and the game is sold out!
22nd February
Broncos Depart to the United States
The Broncos leave for the United States on the 22nd of February. This marks the beginning of the NRL’s international campaign to bring knowledge of Rugby League to America.
24th February
Trial Game 3 – Broncos v Sea Eagles
The 3rd and final game of the pre-season finishes with the Broncos versing the manly Sea Eagles on Saturday the 24th of February at 4 Pines Park, Sydney at 4:55pm. Be sure to watch live on Foxtel.
3rd March
Round 1 – Broncos v Roosters in Las Vegas
For the first time in history, the NRL will start their season with the Broncos versing the Sydney Roosters on Sunday the 3rd of March at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas at 2:30pm AEST. This will be a historic game that will hopefully help to raise awareness amongst the United States about Rugby League. Catch all the action on both Fox and Channel Nine.
14th March
Round 2 – Broncos v Rabbitohs – First Home Game
Round 2 will see the Broncos first official home game of 2024 when the team take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Thursday the 14th of March at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane at 7pm. Be sure to keep an eye out for tickets which are still yet to go on sale.
