Cryptic: Katy Perry posted this quote and added her own words underneath it in this Instagram post
Just saying: It's not clear why the Firework singer felt moved to share the Buddhist passage about true friendship but she embraces its message
While it's not clear what precisely prompted the post from Parry, it could be connected to tweets by budding singer and songwriter Weaver who accused the mega star of bullying her.
Weaver, 23, lashed out on Twitter and recalled an incident at last year's Coachella music festival.
In the tweets, which she later deleted, Weaver claimed that Perry, 31, had openly bullied her after she performed at the annual festival in California.

Claws are out: Pop singer Ryn Weaver (R) accused Perry of bullying her in a series of tweets that she later deleted
Weaver made the claims last week after Perry had tweeted an endorsement for Hillary Clinton while also announcing a fundraising concert for the presidential hopeful.
The OctaHate hitmaker responded by claiming that Perry was paid to make the endorsement and also included a link to a video with the title 'Hillary Clinton lying for 13 minutes straight.'
She wrote: 'LOLOLOL SORRY NOT SORRY OLEASE (sic) OPEN UR EYES.. THIS TWEET IS IGNORANT IF NOT FUNDED BYE https://t.co/cbcPOezuhu'.

Weaver went on: 'No offense @katyperry but considering how much of a bully you were to me.. I hope u don't mind my mindful disagreement w ur $ endorsement.'
The singer went on to recall her version of what happened at last year's Coachella, captured byGigWise: 'if u must know.. She came up to me and my friends.. Knowing I played.. After we were friends..'
'Then stared at me the whole time she spoke to my friend waiting for me to speak... Anytime I spoke she started turning her head around pretending she heard something... Then said "dos u hear something?" (sic) While staring at me.. Anytime I spoke.. After we were already friends.. Did this the entire night...'
Just like a movie: The behavior described by Weaver in her tweets was reminiscent of the 2004 film Mean Girls
'Then came w us to drake and stared at me the WHOLE SHOW.. Then any time I caught her eye out of my periphery she proceeded to alert her entire posse saying " that ryn weaver girl is soooo obsessed with me" loud enough for my entire group of friends to hear...
'While talking why the WHOLE NIGHT loud enough for me to hear.. After pretending o I didn't even exist.'
Katy has previously been involved in a feud with Taylor Swift after the two were once friends.
DailyMail.com has contacted a rep for Katy Perry regarding Ryn's claims about bullying in addition to the claim that Perry's Hillary Clinton endorsement was paid for.
Perry, seen in LA February 12, has not specifically addressed Weaver's allegation that she's a bully
