- The songs 'Now I Need You' and 'Working The Midnight Shift' (both songs morph into each other) are the most futuristic electronic synth techno - whatever you want to call it, you will not be able to stop moving! If you liked 'I Feel Love' you MUST hear these two songs! SO ahead of its time thanks to producer Giorgio Moroder.
- The ethereal 'Now I Need You' and 'Working The Midnight Shift' which segue into each other are brilliant late seventies electro-glam disco, and by far the best pieces on the album. 'Now I Need You' sounds like some sort of disco religious hymn. But the other tracks aren't to be looked over, 'Rumour Has It' is one of Donna's best tracks. And they're overly produced giving them a nice sheen that still sounds fresh today. This is one of my favorite LPs and this is coming from someone who mostly listens to noise and industrial bands.
- Edited 19 years agoAn all-round good disco LP with some sort of modern-day Cinderella theme. For me, however, all the real action takes place on side B where Moroder and Bellotte steal the show with some truly epic electronics. "Working The Midnight Shift" and "Queen For A Day" are both excellent, but the real 24-carat track is "Now I Need You", where Donna's emotional vocals and an almost gospel-like chorus are underpinned by the trademark minimal Munich groove. The track closes with an instrumental section which is pure synth-and-sequencer heaven; sounds like something Blue Planet Corporation could have done 17 years later. As much as I dig "I Feel Love", this is even better. Magic, simply magic.
