Can Bonide Boric Acid Roach Powder be used in a garden around new bean and potato plants?

I had a bottle that is a yr. or 2 old. I used it around newly emerged potato and bean plants. My wife said I should not do it. Did I make a mistake and what should I do if so.

Answer:

Bonide Boric Acid Roach Powder should not be applied around any edible vegetation. We do not recommend consuming any of the vegetables that were treated.
