2024 Maruti Suzuki fuel efficiency
Recent media reports have revealed fuel efficiency figures for the new-gen Swift. As revealed earlier, the upcoming fourth-gen Swift will replace the existing 1.2-litre 4-cylinder, K12 petrol engine with a brand new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z series petrol mill. Codenamed Z12E, this motor will also be available with the mild hybrid setup.
Although Suzuki is yet to reveal official output figures, we expect this new engine to push out a slightly higher output than the outgoing model. For reference, the current 1.2-litre K12C unit kicks out 89 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. As per a recent report, the non-hybrid version of the new engine claims a mileage of 23.4 kmpl whereas the mild-hybrid avatar can return a mileage of 24.5 kmpl.
The current India-spec Swift with the DualJet petrol engine comes with a claimed mileage of 22.38 kmpl and 22.56 kmpl for the manual and AMT variants, respectively. For the new-gen Swift, transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox for the non-hybrid motor whereas the mild-hybrid powertrain will be exclusively mated to a CVT automatic gearbox.
