Jose

Jose has always been a hard worker. For years, he has been putting in the hours to save up money that he can send back to his family in Mexico.

While working in a labor-intensive position as a forklift operator, Jose injured his ankles. That one incident changed life as he knew it. Jose found everything became much harder and he could no longer perform in the position or provide for his family in the way he previously had.

When Jose came to Goodwill Dallas (TX) looking for work, he knew that the jobs available in his area had changed. Goodwill was able to offer this hard worker a second chance at fulfilling employment.

As a member of the Goodwill team, Jose has job security and support that has helped his life improve beyond the workplace. He says that Goodwill has empowered him to continually better himself.

With his newfound confidence, Jose is constantly praised by his colleagues. Everyone who knows him truly values his opinions and will often seek him out for advice.

Even when it comes to missing his family in Mexico, Jose feels some comfort in being able to once again provide for them. While it has been eight years since he last saw them, his newfound stability helps him feel more patient with the distance.
