Investigators are looking for Demurice Tyrone Abrams, 28, and Ricky Tyrone Camp, 28. Both are believed to be in the Rutherford County, N.C., area, Sheriff Steve Mueller said in a statement Friday night.

The home invasion happened Feb. 17 in Cherokee County near Chesnee. When deputies arrived, one of the victims said several men kicked in the front door and came in with weapons, according to Mueller’s statement.

Once inside, the gunmen forced two adults and a child to the floor while demanding money. As they left, one of the gunmen fired several shots into the home, Mueller stated. One of those shots struck the young girl in the leg while she was hiding in a closet.

The night of the incident, officers were notified by emergency room officials in Rutherford County, N.C., that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound to the hand, according to the statement.

“This individual stated he accidentally shot himself in the hand while in Cherokee County at a friend’s house,” Mueller said. “Investigators believe this individual was involved in the home invasion.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Tim Brasier at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office at 864-489-4722, Ext. 109, or Crime Stoppers at 888-274-6372.
