Black Tie

My best friend is getting married this fall. His fiancée decided that he and all the groomsmen will wear brown suits. This is totally crazy, right? Do I have any say in the matter?

Is there a rule dictating that bow ties must be worn only with peak-lapel suits? Or can I pair one with my notch-lapel suit as well?

I was recently married, and I bought a fabulous bespoke tudo for the wedding. The only problem is, where do I wear it now? It seems like unless you are invited to a black-tie event, the options are limited. How do I show this thing off?

I have a masquerade ball coming up. What looks can one pull off for this kind of event?
