Michael A. Briskey

Michael A. Briskey, age 72, of Western Springs. Beloved son of Rocelia and the late Richard. Loving father of Megan (Matt) Schluter and Michael Briskey whom he shares with Janet Radke. Devoted Papa of Jack and Alexandra Schluter. Dear brother of Deborah Kubis, Rebecca (Charles) Scott, and Robert Briskey. Preceded in death by his siblings James (Nancy) Briskey and Patricia (late Ron) DePaola. Fond uncle and friend of many. Long time friend of Frank Glas.

Michael was an avid traveler. He was MVP of his high school football team at Lyons Township, played on the 1967 undefeated state championship baseball team, and was a varsity gymnast. Michael was president of the letterman’s club. He was in the landscaping business for 52 years and spent many years as an owner. He will be fondly remembered for his love of poetry, music, and art.

Family and friends are invited to 10am memorial visitation until time of mass at 11am on Saturday June 11th at St. John of the Cross Church 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to UNICEF to aid children in Ukraine https://www.unicefusa.org. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home 708-352-6500.

  1. Michael was a good person I enjoyed,hanging out,with him he had a beautiful smile , He had a great since of humor .Michael will be Greatly missed

  2. So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. We were on the varsity gymnastics team together at LT. Mike was an incredible contributor to the spirit and talent of our fairly new and positively evolving program. Always upbeat and encouraging. Sincere condolences to his family and Frank.

  3. Michael was my friend for 62 years. I was also his cousin from California in 1964 and had a pass to the Western Springs pool under the name Frank Briskey. He will be missed.

  4. I served mass, played baseball, football and was a gymnast with him. Talented sincere humble loving. He made life a better place
