Welcome

We create value from information.   About Us

We do so by:

  • developing methods to generate insights about organizations and customers from small and big data
  • generating empirical knowledge of individual and group behavior in markets
  • designing information systems for organizations and the society
  • shaping the digital transformation of organizations and society.

With 7 professors  and associated research groups we contribute to research, education and innovation in the fields of information systems and marketing.

How could personalized systems make your job search easier in the future?

Personalized systems enable tailoring content and interaction to users based on large language models and biosignals. In the context of job search, for example, this could enable providing a personalized search platform to support finding job offers that perfectly match to the individual profile. Furthermore, personalized mobile assistants for stressful moments during job fairs or personalized training program that help to prepare for upcoming job interviews could be offered.

STAMMTISCH | mensch.digital at Triangel | Citizens on Board on April 24th 6 PM

Digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) are playing an increasingly important role in our world - whether at work, at home or on the move. But what does this actually mean for us as a society and as individuals? Many projects on wir-forschen.digital - a digital citizen science platform on which citizens can actively participate in research and give us valuable feedback - are addressing precisely this question.

Your opinions and experiences are particularly important in this regulars' table, as they help us to align wir-forschen.digital more closely with the needs and everyday lives of citizens. In addition to an insight into current projects, we also offer the opportunity to try out the platform yourself and give us direct feedback.

New Publication: Cognitive state detection with eye tracking in the field: an experience sampling study and its lessons learned

The i-com Journal of Interactive Media has accepted for publication the paper "Cognitive state detection with eye tracking in the field: an experience sampling study and its lessons learned" co-authored by Moritz Langner, Peyman Toreini and Alexander Maedche.

In this study, we investigate the development of cognitive state models for cognitive load and flow using eye tracking data collected in a longitudinal field study with eleven undergraduate students. The study follows an experience sampling approach to collect cognitive state and eye tracking data from students working on their thesis project over five days. Using this data, we develop supervised machine learning models of cognitive load and flow.

STAMMTISCH mensch.digital at Triangel | On the way to emotion-adaptive smartwatches

Emotions accompany us every day on our journey through life. However, each of us experiences them in a very individual way and in different situations. Developing a deep understanding of our own emotions and at the same time recognizing the emotions of other people is a valuable asset. This knowledge helps us to have successful and fulfilling interpersonal interactions. With good emotional awareness, we can also learn to regulate our emotions more easily, which helps us in various life situations.
