Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds are to release their first album since 2013 and, excitingly for fans, it'll come with a film.

According to a listing on Laemmle Theatres website (noticed by eagle-eyed commenter Jon Davies), the Australian collective will premiere an as-of-yet untitled feature on 8 September.

Pitchfork reports that the film will show them performing tracks from their 16th studio album which is slated for release the following day (9 September).

More details are provided on the theatre's website: "The record has an intimacy and starkness that the film’s photographic style will reflect. It will be shot in black and white, colour and 3-D. The idea is to create an experience that is immersive but also elegant, that feels both immediate and archival."

The alternative rock group formed in 1983 with their debut record, From Here to Eternity, released the following year. Their latest album, Push the Sky Away, came out in 2013.

Cave has a past history scoring films including Australian western The Proposition, The Road and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. His last song as part of the Bad Seeds - "Give Us a Kiss" - came in 2014 from the film 20,000 Days on Earth.

Their song "Red Right Hand" currently serves as the opening titles music for BBC2 period drama Peaky Blinders.
