A recent warm day made me realize that, despite writing about spring fashion for months, I actually own very little at the moment. As someone who shops online for a living, my first instinct was to go to J.Crew because I knew the odds of a current sale were high — but I didn’t expect to see up to 88 percent off spring staples.

During its double-discount Midseason Sale, on-sale items are up to an extra 60 percent off with the code SHOPSALE. And while some brand’s sale sections are filled with winter items that wouldn’t do you any good this season, J.Crew’s is filled with a number of spring — and even summer  — must-haves you’ll want to wear for the next few months. I’m in love with this chambray dress that pairs a short hem and classic denim with a more polished collar and button-down design. It’s a combination that makes it versatile enough to be dressed up with heels or worn more casually with sneakers and a baseball cap (which will be my cute-but-casual look moving forward). Plus, as one shopper pointed out, it’s a “classic silhouette” you can wear year-round, all you need to do is adjust the layers. Not only is it versatile, but it’s “flattering while remaining comfy,” said another customer. 

High-Neck Puff-Sleeve Top

This puff-sleeve top in flowery yellow print from Liberty will take you from spring to the end of summer. The style is made from 100 percent cotton, which one person noted feels “amazing… simple and airy” for hotter days. As for the look, shoppers say that the “fabric is beautiful, the cut is perfect,” and that it is nice enough for work — one customer said they paired theirs with a cardigan for the office — but relaxed enough to be worn casually.

Ribbed Cutout One-Piece Pearl Swimsuit

I actually clicked on this swimsuit before even looking at the price (I’m a sucker for pearls). After realizing that the cute one-piece is a whopping 88 percent off with the additional discount, I immediately added it to my cart. The ribbed swimsuit is sophisticated (pearls), classic (black), and very sexy (those cutouts) while still offering moderate coverage. “This bathing suit is very flattering, cuts out in the right place, and the top has a push up effect,” explained a fan of the swimsuit, convincing me once and for all that it was a must-have. And while I’m admittedly not wearing this next weekend, I am excited to have it in my arsenal for when hot weather finally hits.
