What an unforgettable weekend! We are thrilled to have collaborated with EmblemHealth to bring two incredibly successful MammoGlam events to our Lenox Hill Radiology Bronx and Harlem locations. Our shared goal was to empower women to prioritize their health and well-being, and we are proud to say that we achieved just that. Sheryl Swoopes, RadNet spokesperson, and WNBA icon, joined us in showcasing the importance of accessible healthcare and the critical role of early detection and life-saving preventive care. We are immensely grateful to all the community members and leaders who joined us in celebrating this event and getting their mammograms. A special thank you to New York State Senator Cordell Cleare, Emblem Health Medical Director Michele Follen, MD, and RadNet President and CEO Howard Berger, MD, for their support. Remember, it's never too late to prioritize your health, and we are here to help you every step of the way.

Through our partnership, she inspires others to prioritize their well-being by advocating for annual mammograms among black women and other cancer screenings. According to recent statistics from the CDC, approximately one-third of women aged 50-74 do not receive regular mammograms. This past week, Dr. Jason McKellop was interviewed by KTLA 5 to discuss the reasons behind this concerning trend. Dr. McKellop emphasized the importance of prioritizing annual screenings, as early detection is key to successful breast cancer treatment. Watch the full interview to learn more about this critical issue. #BreastCancerAwareness #MammogramsSaveLives https://lnkd.in/gJh6SnPy

We are proud to be a part of the #BidenCancerMoonshot initiative, which strives to raise awareness and improve access to cancer screening. Our dedicated work through our EBCD program has resulted in the early detection of breast cancer in over 450 patients. Without our program, these cancers may have gone undetected in a traditional screening setting or been diagnosed at a later stage with potentially less favorable outcomes. Learn more about our progress in contributing to the Biden Cancer Moonshot at the link below.

Why aren't older women told to get mammograms over the age of 74? Dr. Jacqueline Holt, medical director of women’s imaging for our Delaware Imaging Network, told Fox News Digital, "When the major randomized controlled trials were performed in the 1970s and 1980s to show how effective mammograms are, they didn’t include enough women in those age groups to confirm their necessity. Cancer doesn't drop off at the age of 74—the risk increases." Read the full article here, https://brnw.ch/21wJzWn
