The 50th anniversary VEITH Meeting conference in New York has ended. For several decades, it has been one of the most important vascular surgery conferences in the world, organized from the beginning by Dr. Frank Veith. My lecture concerned the results of the IRBIS registry - percutaneous treatment of atherosclerosis of the iliac arteries via the radial or brachial access.

#OpenAccess clinical article "Laparoscopic entry techniques: Which should you prefer?" – Raimondo et al. Surgery is by nature invasive and inevitably associated with trauma. How is a laparoscopic hysterectomy performed. A laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive procedure that can offer many benefits over traditional surgery, including smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery. During a laparoscopic hysterectomy, the surgeon uses a laparoscope to remove the uterus and, if necessary, other reproductive organs through small incisions in the abdomen. This advanced technique results in reduced scarring and a shorter hospital stay, allowing for a quicker return to normal activities. If you're exploring treatment options for gynaecological conditions, ask your doctor about the benefits of a laparoscopic hysterectomy. Transcatheter electrosurgical septotomy is indeed a helpful tool to keep in mind while treating post-dissection aortic aneuysms. Optimization of the proximal and distal landing zones can further reduce the amount of aortic coverage.
Great podium presentation at the 2023 VEITH Symposium about Transcatheter Electrosurgical Septotomy is now published on Journal of Vascular Surgery . Great abstract about an effective adjunctive endovascular procedure for a challenging and complex aorta disease. #aortaEd https://lnkd.in/gBbyCyEy

I am glad to share with you our last publication on the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. https://lnkd.in/eSH8fPef “Secondary tricuspid valve regurgitation after isolated aortic valve replacement: outcomes and predictors” was presented at the EACTS congres 2022 in Milan. The topic met the interest of the public: what about the destiny of the Cinderella of the heart valves in patients who underwent isolated aortic valve replacement? What the clinical impact of tricuspid insufficiency in these patients? In this manuscript you will find out that untreated clinically relevant tricuspid insufficiency was related to worse outcome, especially in the elderly. Time to reconsider our surgical indication? A prospective study could answer this question. #futureplans
