I stopped chasing the "perfect" career path.
After high school, I took a gap year because I couldn't get admission to the college I wanted. During that time, I decided to explore new skills and interests. I completed certifications in Tally and digital marketing, which helped me understand different business aspects. The major transformation during that year, however, came from taking CA Rachna Ranade's stock market course, which ignited my passion for finance and investing.
And no:
• It wasn’t because I had no other college options.
• It wasn’t because I got tired of trying new things.
• It wasn’t because I gave up on my dreams.
The insights from the stock market course led me to focus my college studies on banking, finance, and insurance. Once I got into college, I pursued these areas with newfound enthusiasm. After graduation, I took a short break, but family and friends encouraged me to start job hunting. I updated my LinkedIn and Internshala profiles and landed a job at Blue Lake Capital Management, where I wrote from gold-mutual funds.
Since I stopped chasing the "perfect" path:
• I became skilled in finance and content creation.
• I got a job that combined my passion and my skills.
• I had the confidence to leave Blue Lake and pursue my dreams.
Leaving Blue Lake was a difficult decision—like choosing between pizza and ice cream. But I don't regret it. I know why I won't go back to chasing perfection. Now, I'm on a new journey in finance and content creation, and I can't wait to see where it takes me.
If you're struggling to find your way, remember that sometimes a gap year can lead to unexpected opportunities. You don't always have to chase what's "perfect." Follow your passion—it’s worth it. 💖
