It is great to see The Coca-Cola Company talk about our joint collaboration on #diginexLUMEN and #diginexAPPRISE in their recently released 2022 Business & Sustainability Report. Over the past few years, we have partnered with The Coca-Cola Company and consumer goods company Reckitt to develop a new model of human rights due diligence and ethical recruitment, leading to the creation of the #diginexLUMEN platform. Drawing on lessons learned, the platform evolved to include a multi-language, audio-enabled worker-voice tool, #diginexAPPRISE. The tools allows companies to conduct digital #worker interviews in the #supplychain at scale, to identify and mitigate hidden risks. The platform uniquely benefits from triangulating the information that is received from workers, with the information received from #management that is collated through cascading self-assessment questionnaires.  Many large companies with complex supply chains have since adopted the tool for strengthening their own supply chain #duediligence practices. 🚨 Is there #forcedlabour hiding in your #agriculture supply chain? 🚨 According to the The World Bank, a quarter of the world’s population is employed in agriculture, yet for decades the sector has been plagued with exploitative work practices.   The high reliance on migrant labour is a contributing factor, with migrant workers 3x more likely to end up in #forcedlabour, often because of high recruitment fees, trapping them in a cycle of #debtbondage.   KnowTheChain Chain’s benchmark found that 50% of companies are disclosing policies prohibiting worker-paid recruitment fees, however, there is a noticeable gap in implementation, with only 13% of companies ensuring these policies are upheld. Our platform #diginexLUMEN was developed to shine a light on forced labour risk in complex #supplychains, including risks stemming from abusive recruitment practices. This month, we released our #datatriangulation feature. It uses surveys, deployed directly to workers in the supply chain, to identify where the workers’ experience is inconsistent with the responses from employers, labour providers and recruitment agencies, flagging up if workers have indeed had to pay for their job.
