How helpful is your community? We're conducting research to learn how people in local neighbourhoods support each other. So far, the research highlights a strong interest in community engagement and a willingness to help others, particularly when facilitated through accessible platforms like timebanking apps. However, barriers such as lack of awareness and time constraints still need to be addressed to encourage broader participation in community support initiatives. Enough of taking ‘solutions’ to communities. It is time to ask for what they really need and act accordingly. Community members know their problems better and co-creating solutions is the best way to ensure sustained success. ♻️Share with others.

As organizations and governments continue to promote policies with the objective of decreasing the statistics on GBV cases, l believe that there will never be change without implementation. Although it is important to make plans and objectives, for us to achieve real change requires constant engagement with the communities. There is need to relate to them so that they know they are not alone, create a safe space so that parties can air out their concerns and worries without fear or shame. In my experience, sometimes GBV occures not because people want it but they do not know any other way to solve their disputes. Due to lack of education about these issues results in people Conforming to the norm and following disruptive patriarchal beliefs that will only make the situation worse . Educating community members on the effects of GBV, the signs and most importantly, how to solve disputes amicably for me is a dream come true. This is where my heart is, being able to work on promoting peace in homes, one community at a time is the only way to achieve community development. It all starts in a change of perspective and l am honored to be part of it.#communitydevelopment #gbv #education #empoweringcommunities #sdgs2030

2moFascinating and important analysis which reminds policy makers that programs and program funding allocations need to be evaluated periodically to ensure that they continue to serve their policy mission. It also reminds of the significant impacts that long lags in policy and programmatic adjustments can have on communities that become reliant on program funding. This analysis makes a strong case for regular smaller incremental adjustments to program formulas to ensure program parity. Thanks for this insightful report!
