My Journey to ACMA/CGMA - Perseverance and Achievement "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao Tzu This quote beautifully encapsulates my path to becoming an ACMA/CGMA with CIMA. Right after graduating from university, I was resolute about pursuing a career as a management accountant. The initial stages of my journey were smooth, but soon, I encountered the challenges of exam failures. Each setback felt like a blow to my life and career aspirations. At one point, I contemplated giving up, consoling myself with the thought that having a bachelor's degree and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting should be sufficient. However, quitting was never in my character. I've always believed in seeing things through. I recall reading somewhere that with every first step in a journey: • You will challenge yourself. • You will learn new skills along the way. • You will develop a stronger sense of empowerment. Drawing strength from my friends and family, who provided unwavering support and encouragement, I resolved to set a timeline to complete my CIMA journey. Then, Patrick Pfidze from AccountantsForTomorrow reached out to me, offering guidance on studying and passing CIMA exams. In just one year, I successfully tackled the P3 and strategic level case study exams, earning the prestigious ACMA/CGMA designation while managing other aspects of my life. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone especially my family who supported me during this challenging journey. Even when my spirits waned, your encouragement was a beacon of hope. Special thanks to my ever supportive sister, Lanre Oke , Similoluwa Oyelude,Favour Jumai Uhunmwangho, S/GBV-1 and Ikechukwu Eze who read and corrected my case study essays. to ensure I am well prepared for the exam.
