As a recent participant in the University of St.Gallen Alumni workshop, I cannot help but reflect on the invaluable insights I gained from the industry leaders who shared their experiences with us. The workshop covered a broad range of topics from Pharma, Tech, Manufacturing, Banking, and Consulting. Here are my top three takeaways on why this type of workshop is so important: - Gain industry insights: The workshop gave me a deeper understanding of different industries and how they operate. I learned about current trends, challenges, and opportunities, which will undoubtedly help me in my future business endeavors. The guest speakers shared their personal stories and expertise, which added to the richness of our learning experience. - Networking opportunities: The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow MBA alumni and industry professionals. I had a great chance to exchange ideas and establish a foundation for hopefully fruitful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. The event helped me expand my network and provided a platform to explore potential collaborations. - Continuous learning: As MBA graduate, I understand the value of lifelong learning. Attending the workshop allowed me to keep up with the latest trends and developments in different industries, which is crucial in today's ever-changing business landscape. I was able to learn from experts and exchange ideas with my peers, which is invaluable for my ongoing personal and professional development. It was an absolute pleasure to be back at HSG and feel the energy of the MBA community once again. The sense of camaraderie and support amongst the alumni was fantastic. One of the most recent and significant regulations that companies must comply with is the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This directive requires companies to disclose sustainability-related information about their business models, strategies and value chains, as well as provide comparable information for investors to evaluate their sustainability performance. This is a major change for many companies and requires a significant shift in their approach to decision-making and communication with stakeholders.
