Mechanical Engineer at Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions

During the final year of my engineering degree, my capstone design team and I have been developing a reusable fall-breaking device for belayed rock climbing and working from heights. Current solutions are single use only. In a large fall, our device extends the impact to reduce the peak force experienced by the user. This reduces the potential for injuries and equipment failure. I am proud to say we are 1 of 10 finalists in the Esch Pitch Competition and will be competing for one of six $10,000 prizes this Wednesday (April 7th)! If you are interested in attending the virtual event, you can come by the virtual booths, watch the pitches from the phenomenal teams competing, and even vote for the 'Sedra People's Choice Award' to award your favorite team with an additional $3,000!
