Hypothetically, if I were The Body Shop / brought The Body Shop - these are just ideas off the top of my head, without knowledge of financials, stock and assets etc. - I would: 💡 Sadly, close physical stores (maybe a temporary measure. Would have to reassess) 💡Reduce the current product range 💡Create ‘through the letterbox’ packs for all different self-love requirements, skin types etc. 💡From the letterbox packs would be the option to ‘plus up your favs’ on a one-off or subscription basis 💡’Post back points’ to insentise the return and reuse of packaging 💡Letterbox lottery - buy a ticket for a chance to win a letterbox evening 💡’One for me, one for you’ - the option to buy a box for a complete stranger 💡Use influencer marketing to promote ‘letterbox nights’ via. target market representatives 💡Develop a range of ‘inside out’ body health products to support healthy insides - vitamins, supplements, water consumption 💡Develop a range that focus of homiopathic/eastern medicine 💡Collaborate with nutritionists, mental practitioners, personal trainers, counsellors etc. to create content 💡Work with yoga instructors, nutritionist, massage therapists etc. to host annual retreats/mini-festivals that customers can come to! I was so saddened by the news of The Body Shop that last night I thought to myself, what would I do. A common assumption about me: Sitting at a mithai shop, I must be overweight and unhealthy. Not body-shaming, but this preconceived notion of being “unfit” attached to me has been a bit disturbing. But when I think about it, I understand people’s psychology behind it. The fact that we sit all day on our chairs, barely doing any physical movement, surrounded by desserts, makes it evident that I might not be taking enough care of my health. Sorry to break this to you, but health has always been my priority. It has become even more important to me after getting into my business. Sharing a few ideas that help me stay fit and healthy: - Get up by 5:30 am, meditate for 30 mins, workout for 75 minutes and start office by 9:30 am. - Start my day with a healthy breakfast. This gives me the energy to power through the day and avoid cravings later. - Eat regular meals and snacks. This helps to keep my blood sugar levels stable and prevents me from getting too hungry. I aim to eat every 3-4 hours and always have healthy snacks like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. - Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is essential for overall health and well-being. I drink at least eight glasses of water per day. - Get regular exercise. Even though I sit a lot at work, I try to get at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise and resistance training most days and 45 minutes of walk. To make it easy, I schedule some calls with my walk schedule. - I do intermittent fasting which helps me in maintaining my weight and being physically active. - Being a vegetarian, I don’t mind taking health supplements to ensure I get enough proteins and vitamins in my diet. Throughout the week, I have to eat samples of sweets, desserts, and chocolates as part of my work. A perfectly sorted reason for me to be unfit! Nevertheless, I choose to put in time, hard work, and consistency for my health, just like I do it for my work. :) Don't be surprised to find a mithaiwala in the gym; it's all about balance and making the right choices!
