<#Travel diary- #Dubai (1)> On June 23, I went on a three-day trip to Dubai. I originally wanted to go for 4 days and 6 nights, but I couldn't find the right package, so I chose this one. The flight to Dubai was long. Korean Air's meals didn't work except for one, and it was hard to hear the whining of the baby next to me. I was disappointed that the plane didn't have a no-kids zone. The 10-hour flight was also a long time. Luckily, I had a seat at the front of the plane in economy, so my legs were comfortable. I also had a hard time getting through security at the airport, as they would suddenly change the location of the screening. Dubai was founded in 1862 and is a federation of seven city-states, each with its own king. Originally, the country was struggling to survive by selling dates, but the discovery of oil in Dubai and Abu Dhabi allowed it to develop. Abu Dhabi accounts for 80% of the country's oil, while Dubai is almost out of oil and uses it for real estate, tourism, logistics, and aviation. The temperature in Dubai was 47 to 48 degrees, similar to that of Singapore. I was also surprised to see the development of shopping malls because there are no outdoor activities. Since I am studying management and logistics, I was very interested in the business and life of people in Dubai. Dubai doesn't give citizenship to foreigners, they have to renew their visas. However, because of this, the number of citizens is decreasing, but the benefits to the people are enormous, such as almost free real estate loans, foreign medical treatment when people are sick, and free education. The thing about Dubai is that it was very innovative. Dubai made it possible to buy real estate on the blockchain, which created an environment where money could accumulate. The country is so wealthy that it pays very little in taxes, which is why Dubai's airport is the number one in terms of traffic. Dubai doesn't have as much oil as Abu Dhabi, so it's impressive that they're trying to find new ways to make money besides tourism and real estate. I was impressed by the innovations that are happening in Korea, such as green smart farms, flying taxis, and glass cubes. The relationship between Dubai and Korea is exceptional. He said that there are 10,000 Korean expatriates in Dubai, and most of them are expatriates from Korean conglomerates, mainly in logistics (food, aviation) and nuclear power plants. Buzz Khalifa is built by Samsung E&C, Atlantis Island is built by Ssangyong E&C, bottled water is made by Doosan with desalination technology, nuclear power plants are MADE IN KOREA, and the creator of the fountain show at Dubai Mall is a Korean-American and his wife is Seo Young-eun, who recently came to the country. The difficulty is that real estate prices have skyrocketed due to the war with Russia. There are many real estate companies, and although they are currently building a railway, it is noteworthy that public transportation is not developed.
