🌱 Spilling the Beans on Our Secret Sauce at Agriplace! 🌱 Early in my career, I often brushed off 'company culture' as just another industry buzzword. But, as we shaped the team at Agriplace, my perspective shifted. Culture isn't merely a term we toss around now; it's the heartbeat of our day-to-day operations and our own operating system. When we were just a budding team of 14 over 2 years ago, there was this undeniable spark, a bond that was hard to put into words. We started asking ourselves: How can we nurture this way of collaboration? How do we ensure it remains strong as we grow? With a sharper focus on culture, it began to guide us. It became our blueprint for better teamwork, informed decision-making, and staying true to our core values as we grow. Let me share a sneak peek into our recipe for creating our culture: - Trust as the foundation: trust is our starting point. We trust in our team's intentions, their capabilities, and their drive. Time and again, this trust has been rewarded. And on the few occasions it wasn't? The overall positive outcomes still by far outweighed the negative. - Empower with ownership: we believe in giving responsibilities early on. We're always here to provide support and guidance, but we place strong faith in an individual's abilities to lead and execute. - Mindset over experience: when building our team, a positive and adaptable mindset is more valuable than a long list of accomplishments. Beyond being a tasty treat, these chocolates symbolize something greater – a culture that values connection and encourages employees to reach out and engage with one another. It didn't take long for me to understand the significance of this gesture. As my colleagues warmly welcomed me to the organization and happily indulged in a chocolate, I quickly realized that this is a cherished tradition at Hevo. It's a simple yet powerful way to foster relationships and create a sense of belonging. Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with several colleagues, discovering more about their roles, backgrounds, and experiences here. The warm conversations, shared stories, and genuine connections reaffirmed that I've joined a company that truly cares about its people. 🤝❤️ I'm grateful to be part of a team that values and nurtures a welcoming environment. It's these small acts of kindness and inclusivity that make Hevo Technologies stand out. Now, I must confess that as a vegan, I couldn't personally enjoy the chocolates myself. One of my early day memories at Personio is driving to the DYI store and building a standing desk with Emil Mahr and Sebastian Maurischat 🖖 (Christoph Deckert, you were also there, but in all my pictures, you’re just standing by the side, observing 😄). We wanted to do something good for our backs, budget was scarce and this seemed like a reasonable approach. Since those humble beginnings, Personio grew to heights I could not have imagined. I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to be part of this journey. Now, after more than 6 years at Personio, I've decided it's time to seek a new challenge. I’ll forever cherish the unique experience of growing from just a few to thousands of employees and from six to nine digits of annual recurring revenue and all the wins and pains that come with it. The absolute highlight has been the amazing people that I’ve met along the way. A big, heartfelt thank you to all of you! You’re way too many people to tag here but you know who you are. Even being just a couple of weeks removed, I already sense how this chapter and all the connections I made will influence my life moving forward. Talking about moving forward… I’m taking a couple of weeks off but then I’ll be looking for something new: a (marketing) leadership role in Munich, preferably in Green Tech, with a great product and new, amazing colleagues. It was my last week at Mindvalley and the journey was full of learnings! ✨ We setup a Retention process from scratch that's catering to hundreds of thousands of customers annually generating millions. But everyone talks about such milestones. I want to share some experiences which are far more priced than this: 1⚡Retention can't happen via marketing alone: Retaining customers has to be Product Led with support from Customer Experience, Data and Marketing. 2⚡Knowing your customers is of paramount importance: Gone are the days of relying just on NPS. Speaking to them, deploying surveys at delight and pissed moments can give you a gold mine of data. 3⚡Testing and experimentation is always underrated: You need to test more and even more importantly, catalog and analyse them better. 4⚡A right team culture isn't just built top-down: Build a culture which is driven even by the middle management and peers. It reflects the willingness of the entire team to have each other's back. 5⚡You can grow even with empathy: Rafay Korai taught me how you can achieve moonshots while still have a family-like relation with your team. 🙌🏻 I got to work with probably the most diverse team in the world with smart minds from 10+ nationalities. 🌎 I had the extreme privilege to manage a team of 3 amazing folks. Each one of us were from a different country, culture and experience. But we came together to outgrow and transcend. Thank you Mindvalley and everyone in it for making me learn some quintessential lessons. 🦄 For the next venture of my journey, I've moved to the amazing city of #Amsterdam and I'll be sharing more on that in the coming days! #lastday #mindvalley #growthmindset
