Today, I successfully launched the high power scratch built rocket I have been working on since summer. The rocket flew on an Aerotech K1275R and achieved the following: 10,622 ft apogee, Mach 1.5, and 37.3 max G's. The payload in the rocket includes a custom telemetry and GPS electronics setup made by the UCI Rocket Project avionics team, and 2x AltusMetrum EasyMini altimeters which were responsible for recovery. If you are interested here is a video of the launch: https://lnkd.in/gKW6Pp-H . Also note that this is the first rocket with the Relativity Space logo to leave the ground! #Space #Rocket #Aerospace #Engineering #Mechanical #RelativitySpace #Industry #Flight #UCI
Wondering if you are familiar with Project Caelus (www.projectcaelus.org), high school group on east coast. Check them out!
Really cool to see that thing take off! I can’t believe it hit Mach 1.5.
Very cool Owen Osborne - congrats!
