It is World Down Syndrome Day this Thursday 21st March. This is a brilliant video to remind us to focus on what we CAN do and not what we CAN’T do! #worlddownsyndromeday #2024 #AssumeThatICan
Our negative assumptions about people with Down syndrome can lead us to treat them in such a way that these assumptions become reality. In sociology, this is called a ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’. Why not reverse our perspectives? If we have positive assumptions about people with Down syndrome, we'll give them more opportunities in their schools, workplaces, relationships and activities. And maybe these positive assumptions will become reality. #AssumeThatICan #WDSD24 #WorldDownSyndromeDay #EndTheStereotypes SMALL Indiana Production Stabbiolo Music Rich Lee Christopher Probst, ASC Louise Baker Lee Karim Bartoletti Silvia Bergamaschi Luca Angeleri Luca Bettinetti Alga Pastorelli Alessandro Cristofori 22DOGS Canadian Down Syndrome Society Down's Syndrome Association Down Syndrome Australia National Down Syndrome Society Global Down Syndrome Foundation Down Syndrome International FCSD Fondazione Cariplo Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo

Fearless Fin 💚 was written by my amazing friend Becky, capturing Finley’s journey through diagnosis and treatment and the effects on the family. Scott Rogers This book aims to help many other families explain what leukaemia is to their child/children and that it is ok to have different feelings. Well done to the Rogers Family for sharing their story.💚 #ChildhoodCancer #Leukaemia #WorldBookDay
Fearless Fin, a heartfelt book capturing Finley’s journey through diagnosis and treatment. We are so grateful to Becky, Scott, and Ollie for sharing this incredible story. It sheds light on the impact on Finley and his brother Ollie, along with an analogy to explain leukaemia. The book is available at Little Light Publishing and is making its way to children’s oncology wards. (https://lnkd.in/eaCkyhVg) 🫶 Fearless Fin started off as a way to capture those moments from my little boy, Finley’s, diagnosis, the changes that treatment caused and how this affected not only him but my eldest son too and us as a family. I am so deeply honoured to have been able to put these words into a book. I truly hope that this book will help many other families explain what leukaemia is to their child/children. But most importantly of all I hope this helps children on treatment and their siblings know that it’s okay to feel many different emotions and sometimes all at the same time. And that no matter what changes happen there is always fun to be had a magical adventure to go on! -Becky, Finley’s Mum 💛 #WorldBookDay #childhoodcancerawareness #childhoodcancer #ukcharities
