Crazy to think that the last major evolution between auto finance lenders and auto dealers was about 20 years ago with the modernization of communication from the fax machine to digital. People will begin shopping SelectFi dealers over non-SelectFi dealers. Why? Last week I was in a store and an F & I manager tried to get a high LTV, 618 TU deal approved through captive lenders and majors. (to no avail in spite of 'favors' that would have lead to terrible high % deal for shgopper after 8 hours or days) In 30 seconds, SelectFi would have the deal approved, with back-end allowance and 1.5 points held, at a small regional bank. The desk cannot know all the lenders/programs at EVERY institution in an area. So shoppers can get in and out over lunch break, assuming the car is clean. When word gets out...where do you think shoppers will try?

Your program doesn’t work. The portfolio money isn’t real etc……These are common misconceptions I hear about Credit Acceptance. I think the staff at 19 Auto Group would disagree. They just closed their first pool and got a big fat check. I’m also sure the other 8 dealers in my market that closed pools in February earning $182,956 in express payouts plus the 40 dealers in my market who earned $446,681 in monthly portfolio payouts since the beginning of the year would also disagree. #cardealers, are you seeing quick, automated decisions from your #autofinance partners? How about speedier funding? Leaders from Hyundai Capital America, and multiple other auto lenders at Auto Finance Summit East reported high rates of automatic credit decisions giving a speedy answer to dealerships and their customers seeking to make a car deal. Hyundai Capital America CEO Marcelo Brutti, who leads the captive finance company serving Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차), Kia Worldwide and Genesis, described the percentage of credit applications automatically approved or rejected by his company as in the "low to mid-80s," with automated decisions on prime-credit borrowers in the "high 80s." Hyundai Capital also is electronically funding "close to 40 percent" of its deals now, and the captive finance company planned to get to the "mid-50s" soon, Brutti said.
