Businesses have learned that hybrid and remote work setups are effective and here to stay. As always, I love hearing what Paul Vallée has to share about emerging trends, and enjoyed reading this VMblog article featuring his predictions for the coming year. According to Paul, the desktop is poised to undergo a dramatic makeover as it merges into the enterprise cybersecurity platform; over-employed workers (i.e. shadow employment) will become more common, requiring sophisticated cybersecurity and compliance solutions; state actors will enter the threat landscape and deepfake technologies will be more commonly used in PR battles. Finally, he predicts that generative AI will become an omnipresent assistant, moving beyond on-screen chatbots. Such timely and compelling insights!

Helping secure your environment from hackers | Web Security, Penetration Testing, Cybersecurity Consulting
One of the costliest attacks against an organization is from a malicious insider* Is it any wonder that companies will use every tool at their disposal to fight that threat? As a privacy advocate, of course, I think using AI, that has been shown time and again to make mistakes and errors, in this manner is ridiculous. But from a business perspective, it does make some sense. Your company laptop, phone, equipment, etc. isn't yours. It belongs to the company. The company does have a right to monitor the equipment for misuse, especially when the impact of a malicious insider is so high. That being said, this sort of tool needs to be handled like any other security tool that might monitor employees. It needs to build trust in your employees - not reduce it. Discuss the tool with employees. Show them the benefits and listen to their concerns. Reiterate the purpose of the tool and emphasize what it will *not* be used for. Because it always comes back to trust. And if you lose that, it is very very hard to get it back. * IBM Security's Cost of a Data Breach Report 2023 #security #cybersecurity #ai #monitoring #performance #databreach https://lnkd.in/gk8Za2Cc

Not every new digital tool or software is the right fit for your business. Before automating a business process or leaving everything to AI, consider how it will affect your employees and customers. Instead of just following the trend, rely on data and evidence before committing to new technology. #digitaltools #business #ai #cybersecurity #technology #software
