Alkaline Water and Mineral Water- Wat-ers the difference?

As people become more health-conscious, they turn to different types of water to meet their hydration needs. Two popular options are bottled Alkaline water and Mineral water. While both are considered healthy choices, they differ in several ways.

Alkaline Water

Alkaline water has a higher pH level than tap water, typically more than 7. It is believed to help balance the body's pH levels, neutralize acid in the bloodstream, and improve overall health. Alkaline water is often made using an ionizer or adding minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

Mineral Water

Mineral water contains naturally occurring minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It is often sourced from underground springs and contains a unique mineral composition thought to provide health benefits.

Main Differences

One of the main differences between alkaline water and mineral water is their pH levels. While alkaline water has a higher pH level, mineral water typically has a pH level that is close to neutral (around 7). This means that mineral water is not as alkaline as alkaline water, but it still contains minerals that are beneficial to the body.

Another difference between these two types of water is their mineral content. Mineral water naturally contains various minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and potassium. These minerals are essential for many bodily functions, such as bone health, muscle function, and hydration. Alkaline water, on the other hand, may not contain these minerals naturally, but they may be added during the ionization process.

In terms of taste, alkaline water and mineral water may have different flavours. Alkaline water may have a slightly sweet or bitter taste due to its alkaline properties, while mineral water may have a more natural, refreshing taste due to its mineral content.

In conclusion, alkaline water and mineral water are two popular types of bottled water that offer unique health benefits. While alkaline water is known for its alkaline properties and pH-balancing benefits, mineral water contains naturally occurring minerals that are essential for bodily functions. Regardless of which type of water you choose, it is important to stay hydrated all day for a healthy and balanced life.
