Hello Mariners! It's been a HOT minute since I've posted. There are a LOT of things going on within the industry. Certainly a LOT going on at Hornbeck Offshore if you've been on hitch and haven't heard. LOTS of billets to hire for - ALL POSITIONS - given the recent vessel purchases made by our company. THANK YOU for all the mariners that have joined the company thus far and to those mariners that have been here tried and true! We look forward to working with you and growing YOUR CAREERS! HOS is a company ON the GO and ON the GROW! What's NEXT??? Stick around! This is just getting GOOD!

For those of you that are THINKING HARD about a change - what's holding you back? Been at your present employer for years and feeling "loyalty guilt" even though you're stuck in an employment rut? Feeling capped at your credential potential? Vessel systems and accommodations in need of some serious maintenance? Does your company even have a robust maintenance program? Over worked and under crewed? When is the last time you felt you were working in a SAFE vessel environment? As a maritime recruiter I've heard all of these reasons for change. Heck - even food budgets are getting cut? All these reasons are whack, Jack!

But the BIGGEST REASON I have been told countless times by mariners wanting to move their career path is that their current employer's company culture has hit the skids. For some or all of the reasons mentioned above. Tell me - what is the cost of company culture? Sure - there are those out there that increased day rates to keep capable mariners. What else do they have to offer BESIDES MONEY? Does your company have a CULTURE of INTERGRITY, COMMITMENT, EXCELLENCE and TEAM WORK? Does your company foster a SAFETY PROGRAM that actually protects and educates mariners? Does your present employer promotes from within to offer opportunities to grow your credentials to unlimited status? Does your present situation offer development into a leader?

Remember mariners - you exchange YOUR time, which is INVALUABLE, for a day rate. You work hard for yourselves and your families and miss out on that valuable time while on hitch. Don't you want to work for a company that wants to WORK WITH YOU and FOR YOU? I sailed for this company for 11 years and supported them for 14 years shoreside. Take it from me - HORNBECK OFFSHORE is a company of BOUNDLESS OPPORTUNITIES. All depends on what YOU want to achieve. Bring your talents and time where you will be appreciated, mentored, and given those opportunities to GROW! Move forward and don't look back... Definitely don't feel STUCK in a RUT!
