The adjective Egoistic describes people who put their own interests and needs before those of others. while the adjective egotistic describes people who have an exaggerated sense of self-importance.

An Egoist is someone who believes in or practices Egoism, which is a philosophical doctrine or ethical theory that emphasizes self-interest as the motivating force in human behaviour. Egoism can be of different types, such as psychological egoism - the belief that all human actions are ultimately motivated by self-interest or ethical egoism - the belief that individuals should always act in their own self-interest. this is the positive side of Ego!. In a broader sense, an Egoist is someone who prioritizes their self-interest or personal well-being. isn't it wise to be an Egoist?

An Egotist is a person who is excessively self-centred or self-absorbed, often to the point of being conceited or vain. Egotists have an inflated sense of their own importance and may constantly talk about themselves, seek attention, and praise their own abilities or achievements. Egotism is often associated with arrogance and a lack of consideration for the feelings and needs of others. It can be seen as a negative character trait. I am sure you you don't want to be an Egotist, isn't it?

So , the key difference between the two terms is that "egoist" is more related to a philosophical or ethical perspective that emphasizes self-interest, while "egotist" refers to a person's behaviour or personality characterized by excessive self-centeredness and a lack of consideration for others.

Hi Chandra Sahu i can just say EGO is harmful for successful life - both personal and professional. Empty vessels makes more noise. I have met some of best brains in India. One thing common in them is all are humble and approachable and doesn't have even slightest shade of ego, are progressing in their personal as well as professional life.
