Types of Domain Name:

Domain name is made up of two words, like example.com is the name of a domain. One part of this is before the dot (example). You can put anything in this part as per your wish.

The second part is before the dot (.). You can customize this part of the domain name as per your wish. This is called the extension of the domain name. These extensions are already fixed. And you can choose any one extension from them.

There are many types of domain names. But here we will give information only about important and popular types. So that sometimes you need to buy a domain name. Then you will be able to choose the right domain. So let us know the types of domains.

Based on these extensions, domains have been classified into 4 main parts.

➤ Top-level domain: Domain name used in all countries. By the way, a domain name is called a top-level domain. The domain level is the most commonly used. This makes it easier for your website to rank. Additionally, Google pays more attention to these domain names. An example of a top-level domain is a domain with the following suffix. As;

➤ CCTLD – Country code top-level domain: Some domain names are made for a particular country, these are called Country Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD). Only two words are used in this type of domain name extension. Following are some of these major CCTLDs.

  • .cn – China

  • .ch – Switzerland

  • .nz – New Zealand

  • .br – Brazil

➤ gTLD (generic top-level domain): gTLDs are domain extensions that do not depend on a country code. .com and .net domains are great examples of gTLDs. However, some of them are associated with a specific community, so you should be careful not to confuse your visitors. These domain extensions are often referred to as sponsored TLDs and are represented by a sponsoring organization that sets and enforces the rules for the TLD. Below are some TLD examples:

  3. Add to Cart: If available when searching for the domain name. Then add it to the cart.

  4. checkout: After adding the domain name to the cart, click on Checkout to buy.

  5. Create an Account: As soon as you checkout. The page to login to Domain Registrar will open in front of you. Since you will not already have an account with Domain Registrar. Therefore, first of all, create an account and log in.

  6. payment: After login, payment for Domain Name Checkout has to be made. Since I have already told you that the domain name has to be purchased.
