I've tried many mop variations in the past, from the original string mop to both microfibre and sponge options, and an array of spray versions. I had never tried an electric spray mop so decided to give Vileda's new electric spray mop - the Vileda Looper a go.

Putting the Looper together was very easy, all that was required was four of the pieces slotting together, including the bottle that you fill with water and attaching the two microfibre pads to the base.

I placed the super lightweight Vileda mop on the handy base using the detachable power cord (which slots in the back of the handle) while I charged it up for about an hour, and it was then good to go.

On charge!

It had rained the previous day so there were some muddy footprints on my ceramic tile flooring that I was excited to tackle.

The water tank needed filling but the only problem I had was figuring out whether I was supposed to use hot or cold water, and if I was able to add a floor cleaning solution to that water.

I hunted for this information and failed to find out whether or not I should, so I decided to use 50% hot and 50% cold water.

I did manage to find some advice about using a solution in the water, which was to use just a little as long as it wasn't foamy. So I added a little bit of Flash All-Purpose Multi Surface in Relaxing Lavender as it smells divine and off I went.

There are two red buttons situated at the front of the handle, one for power on and the other to spray the water. As I pressed the power on button the two rotating discs at the base which the microfibre pads are attached to got to work. Spraying as I go, the Vileda Electric Spray Mop easily lifted the dried mud off my ceramic tiles and I was impressed.

But the real test was going to be my daughter's bedroom where she has laminate flooring, that has paint marks, spilt drink stickiness and unidentifiable stuff ingrained to the floor. Don't get me wrong I had whipped over her floor with our string mop several times but there was always stuff that never lifted, and I was certain I'd get the same result with the Vileda Looper.

I was wrong and pleasantly surprised at how well this electric spray mop lifted the grime from my daughter's bedroom floor leaving it looking the best it has in a very very long time!

I continued to clean all the sealed hard floors in the house and everything looked and smelt clean. Even my mum, who is somewhat hard to please, was super impressed and said: "I really love this mop, best one we've had yet."

The Looper lifting dried dirt off my ceramic tiled floor

The Vileda Looper Electric Spray Mop is definitely worth the investment if you're wanting a sparkling mop up of your floors as it will do the job. I won't be ditching my string mop just yet though as there's something about whacking all that water across the floor and giving it a good scrub - but that may be just me!

But for a quick, easy and convenient thorough mop up of the house - I would say you're on to a winner with the Vileda Looper Electric Spray Mop.

Here's even more reason to get hold of one today as it's features include:

  • Removes up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses with just water

  • Electric
  • Cordless
  • Works on all hard floors
  • Bucket free mopping

The Vileda Looper Electric Spray Mop is priced at £112 and it's available to buy at Amazon and Wilko.
