Anúna - in concert live from dublin

(2020) 47 mins

ANÚNA - In Concert Live From Dublin was filmed by candlelight in front of a live audience in Dublin, Ireland on a wild and stormy evening. The songs span a thousand years of music created for the winter season and performed by the combined voices of this legendary Irish-based vocal group, which brought gravitas and elegance to the original Riverdance.

This peerless group’s vocal performances include an eclectic collection of audience favourites like Song of the Wind, Geantrai (Happy Song), Sanctus, Dulaman (Seaweed) and Gaudete, along with classics of Anuna’s repertoire such as Pie Jesu, Fionnghuala and Media Vita. All of these choral compositions are written and/or arranged by the group’s artistic director and composer, Michael McGlynn.

This exquisite programme features the beautiful interiors and stained glass of Saint Bartholomew's Church, a landmark of Dublin, alongside evocative images of the Irish landscape. This is combined with the elegant costumes and candle-lit presentation that has made ANÚNA the best-known choral ensemble to originate from Ireland.

"Anúna provide the sort of thrilling, life-affirming music that makes you
think Ireland, indeed the world, is not such a bad place after all."
- Independent

"With Anúna, the worlds of choral, classical and traditional music intersect
with ease, a place where heaven meets the horizon in perfect coalescence."
