Malaika Arora on Monday took to her Instagram account to share a lengthy note as she turned 48. Sharing a series of photos from her intimate birthday bash, Malaika wrote: “As the sun sets on another year and I turn 48, I am grateful for the peace, my people and my calm that has been my companion throughout this journey.” Even though the note shared by Malaika was quite moving, it has sparked a massive debate about her “real age”.
Amid her birthday post, an old video of Malaika admitting that she is two years elder to her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan has resurfaced on the internet. As per Wikipedia, Arbaaz is 56 now. The clip has Sajid introducing Arbaaz and Malaika as he says, “I have with me Arbaaz sahab and Arbaaz se do saal badi, Malaika Arora.” As the actress laughs, Sajid asks, “How do you feel about marrying a man younger than you?” Malaika responds, “I think it’s ok. It feels good.” The clip then cuts off. Well, we cannot verify whether or not this was a joke, but a section of the internet is convinced that this was true.
One user wrote, “If Arbaaz Khan is 56 years old and she admitted being 2 years elder to him, it makes her 58, what is with lying your age!!!” Another one said, “She’s been 48 since forever.” “Damn if she is 58, she looks ridiculously good for her age,” a third user said.
However, others were of the opinion that it was her choice. “I clearly don’t understand the fuss about her age. May be she is hiding it considering the amount of age shaming done on her. I think she is not lying, she is definitely between 48-50.” Another one commented, “It is true. Malaika met Arbaaz during a 1993 commercial shoot when she was 18. That would make her age 48 in 2023. Wikipedia is not always reliable.”
Malika is currently dating Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor. They have been together for about five years now. Malaika was previously married to actor Arbaaz Khan. Malaika also shares a son with Arbaaz.
