(Nielsen) Nedzel of Weston, a former writer, physics teacher, and musician. She died Aug. 3 on her 77th birthday. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mrs. Nedzel had graduated from the University of Chicago by age 17.

She received a doctorate of education for her groundbreaking research into the effectiveness of museum exhibits with visitors. She later pursued studies in theology and counseling at Boston College, earning a master's degree in 1980. In her early years, Mrs. Nedzel was a cast member of the "Little Orphan Annie" radio show. She studied extensively with violin virtuoso Alexander Schneider and performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 9.

She also enjoyed playing chamber music. Early in her career, Mrs. Nedzel was a curator at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, and a project editor for the Institute for Air Weapons Research. During World War II, she joined her fiance in Los Alamos, N.M., where he worked on the Manhattan Project. Mrs.

Nedzel founded Mystic Studios in Arlington, a specialty printing concern with expertise in fine oriental papers and customers that included Shreve, Crump and Low, Gumps, and George Jensen. She continued her professional pursuits as a special assistant to Jerome Wiesner during his tenure as provost at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and introduced an updated version of the salon concept to foster broadened intellectual discourse within the MIT community. She also formed History In the Making a corporate history research and writing practice. F. Pimental, 88; was a seamstress Florence L.

(DiGloria) Pimental of Medford, a homemaker and talented seamstress, died Sunday in Wingate Nursing Home in Reading. She was 88. Born in the North End and raised in East Boston, Mrs. Pimental later moved with her family to Medford, where she lived for more than 75 years. She worked as a seamstress out of the home she shared with her late husband, Harold Pimental, and their children.

Myer Brill, 82; was active in Winthrop Myer Brill, former chairman of the Winthrop Cable Advisory Committee, died Sunday in his home in Winthrop. He was 82. Mr. Brill, who owned and operated Brill Radio and Television Co. in Winthrop, was also a former town treasurer and a member of the board of directors of Winthrop Community Access TV.

Born in Putnam, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. A longtime Town Meeting member, he was a former president of the Winthrop Rotary Club and the town's Chamber of Commerce. He leaves his wife, Frances (Abrams); a son, Rabbi Michael Brill of New Jersey; two daughters, Cheryl A. Brill of Marblehead and Jacquelyn Crothers of Swampscott; a sister, Betty Sall of Milton; a brother, Hyman, of Winthrop; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m.

NEDZEL Mrs. Nedzel led the development of a new handbook for parents for the Weston Parent Teacher Organization, and was committed to several charitable organizations, including Friends of the National Center of AfroAmerican Artists.

Mrs. Nedzel was also accomplished in the culinary arts, having one of her favorite recipes offered at Legal Seafoods Lucie's Soft Shell Crab. She leaves two sons, Alexander E. of Lexington and Carl P. of Fort Worth; a daughter, Hilary C.

of Ansonia, and four grandchildren. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. in the First Parish Church in Weston. Kenneth Coates, active retiree; at 77 A funeral will be held today for Kenneth S. Coates of Walpole, a World War II veteran and former employee of BTU Engineering in Billerica, who died Saturday at' Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain of prostate cancer.

He was 77. Born in Boston, Mr. Coates graduated from Randolph High School in 1942, and later earned a paralegal certificate from Boston State College. In World War II, he was part of the second front of the Normandy invasion. Returning home, he began working at BTU Engineering, where he was a supervisor for almost 30 years.

A Walpole resident for more than half a century, Mr. Coates was active in local government, serving as a Town Meeting representative and as an associate member of the Council on Aging. Mr. Coates enjoyed para-sail-1 ing, snowmobiling, and many other adventurous sports. At age 68, he went bungee-jumping.

He leaves his wife, Barbara J. (Green); three sons, Michael of Plainville, Dennis of Wrentham, and Daniel of Long Pond, a daughter, Jeannette Thomas of North Attleborough; two sisters, Marjorie Borrows of Natick and Dorothy Wilkes of Saco, Maine; 12 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in Ginley Funeral Home in Walpole. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Rev. Joseph Glavin, BC professor; at 83 A funeral Mass will be said tomorrow for the Rev. Joseph A. Glavin of the Society of Jesus, a history professor at Boston College for nearly 30 years. Father Glavin died Oct.

5 in Deacon Hospital. He was 83. Born in Cambridge, he entered the Society of Jesus in 1935, shortly after graduating from Boston College High School. He was ordained in 1948. He taught at the College of the Holy Cross for 13 years and served as a moderator of athletics there before joining the faculty at Boston College in 1963.

He retired in 1990, but remained a part of the Jesuit community at Boston College until last year, when severe arthritis required that he move to the Jesuit health facility in Weston. He leaves no immediate survivors. The funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Chapel at Boston College in Newton.

Burial will be in the Jesuit Cemetery at Campion Center in Weston..
